Fujifilm Medical Systems USA Inc.02.24.16
Stamford, Conn.-based Fujifilm Medical Systems USA Inc. will present one of its latest advances—the FDR D-Evo GL DR detector for single exposure long-length digital imaging—at the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting held March 1-5, 2016, in Orlando, Florida. Fujifilm’s FDR D-Evo GL is a long-length DR (digital radiography) detector. Designed for scoliosis and/or long leg imaging exams, it is U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) cleared and will be available in the United States beginning Spring 2016.
“Fujifilm is leading the way in simplifying long length imaging with another game changer in DR, a true ‘first’ and a focus on patient safety,” said Rob Fabrizio, director of marketing and product development at Fujifilm Medical Systems USA. “We are excited to introduce orthopedic surgeons to the long-awaited benefits that single exposure DR dose reduction and image quality will bring to their patients in the diagnosis, planning and monitoring of scoliosis and long leg orthopedic treatments.”
Featuring a 17 x 49 inch field of view, the FDR D-Evo GL single exposure DR accelerates exam acquisition for the patient, to virtually eliminate chances of movement, which can cause the need for retakes and additional pain, in contrast to conventional DR stitching systems which require multiple exposures, which take longer to set up positioning and longer to acquire thereby increasing chances of patient movement and pain. Compared to CR long length imaging, D-Evo GL’s DR lowers dose as much as 50% and images display in seconds compared to minutes. FDR D-Evo GL also features Fujifilm’s patented ISS and noise reduction detector circuitry to uniquely improve performance and contribute to producing clear, sharp images at ultra-low doses.
