Huntley, Ill.-based Life Spine Inc., a medical device company that makes surgical spine technology, is gearing up for the release of the Gruve anterior cervical plate system by introducing the device in initial clinical cases.
“The Gruve plate features an innovative locking mechanism that is easy to use and provides multiple methods of locking confirmation,” said James J. Lynch, M.D., FACS, FAANS, founder of SpineNevada located in Reno, Nevada. “The locking mechanisms allow the screws to hyper angulate to accommodate varying patient anatomies.”
The innovation of the Gruve anterior cervical plate’s locking mechanism allows for extreme bone screw angulation along with a tactile and visual confirmation during final screw placement.
The device is scheduled for a full product release in the second quarter of 2016.
