Banner Industries, comprising Banner Service Corporation, Banner Medical Innovations, Banner P&M Supply, Edge International, and Supra Alloys, has announced that MiddleGround Capital, a private equity company that acquired Banner in 2019, has acquired National Kwikmetal Services (NKS) and added it to the Banner platform.
Established in 1989 as a small order specialist, NKS, based in Des Plaines, Illinois, has grown to be one of the largest independently owned flat-rolled stainless steel service centers in the USA and is recognized in the industry as a leader in stainless steel slitting technology. NKS provides differentiated metal products and processing capabilities across the automotive, general industrial, aerospace and defense, power generation, medical, and infrastructure and construction markets.
For over 50 years, Banner Industries has been a supplier of precision ground bar, centerless grinding, turning, straightening, and other value-added services. Materials include carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, nickel alloys, and titanium.
“NKS’ unique position within their elected markets allows them to seize the opportunity to serve customers more effectively than other large traditional service centers,” said Dan Stoettner, Banner Industries CEO. “With the additional capabilities they bring to Banner, we look forward to what this next phase of growth means for our collective customers.”
