New partnerships, new funding, new products. Those topics drove the buik of ODT website traffic this past week.
ARCH Medical Solutions garnered the most pageviews with its purchase of American Prosthetic Components (APC) of Green Bay, Wis. APC produces high-quality modular prosthetic components sold worldwide. The components are designed and engineered to meet or surpass ISO 10328 standards and are manufactured in a range of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastic with production processes that comply with CE requirements 92/42/EEC. The deal allows ARCH Medical Solutions to expand its capabilities into prosthetic components and strengthen its position as a diversified supplier in the medical device contract manufacturing market.
The new products enticing cybervisitors were Aurora Spine's SiLO TFX MIS sacroiliac joint fixation device, and ZimVie's RegenerOss CC Allograft Particulate and RegenerOss Bone Graft Plug.
Aurora Spine's SiLO TFX MIS sacroiliac joint fixation device were used for the first time in surgeries in recent weeks. SiLO TFX provides sacroiliac joint fusion foe sacroiliac joint disruptions and degenerative sacroiliitis. The system features a transfixing-cone, ilium screw, sacrum screw, and accompanying instrumentation. The implants are meant to transfix the sacrum and ilium for stability to achieve bony fusion.
ZimVie's RegenerOss CC Allograft Particulate is a natural blend of cortical and cancellous bone particles for filling bony voids in various dental applications. The graft has been sterilized and freeze-dried using the Cancelle SP Sterilization Process, a proprietary method for cleansing and preserving the graft. The firm's RegenerOss Bone Graft Plug is an easy-to-use grafting solution for filling extraction sockets and periodontal defects. The Plug is a combination of 80% graft particulate and 20% Type I bovine collagen that adapts to the shape of the defect once hydrated.
The other partnership making news this past week was Anika Therapeutics' cooperation agreement with Caligan Partners. As part of the agreement, Anika named Gary Fischetti as a Class III director. Fischetti will join two current board members on a newly formed Capital Allocation Committee of the Board, which will make recommendations to the board and support management’s review of the Anika’s capital allocation. With this appointment, the Anika Board is expanding to eight directors, including six new independent directors appointed since 2018.
