Stryker has expanded its Gamma4 hip fracture nailing system by adding an intermediate nail, the RC lag screw, as well as an anti-rotation clip with sleeve components.
Since its launch in August 2022, the Gamma4 system has been used in over 19,000 cases across over 850 facilities, according to the company. The recent line extension obtained U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance in June 2023. Features include:

- 15% increased cutout resistance compared to the standard Gamma4 lag screw
- Screw blades with 2mm of additional surface area contact with the femoral head compared to the standard Gamma4 lag screw
- Design to provide more isthmus support than a thochanteric nail and faster procedural time compared to a long nail
- Anti-rotation clip and sleeve components for intraoperative stability in rotationally unstable femoral head neck fragments
