Intellijoint Surgical’s Intellijoint KNEE has gained regulatory approval in Japan, the second from the company’s orthopedic product portfolio to be authorized in the country. Its Intellijoint HIP system was launched in the country in June 2021.
“We are excited to allow additional access to our technology in Japan with our second product entry in the market. We are proud that our Intellijoint KNEE technology will benefit recipients of total knee arthroplasty in Japan” said Armen Bakirtzian, co-founder and CEO at Intellijoint. “Joint pain impacts people all over the world and it’s our mission to provide every surgeon with the best tools to optimize patient outcomes.”
The Intellijoint KNEE provides orthopedic surgeons with real-time measurements of surgical cutting guides during a total knee replacement (TKR) procedure. The system is vendor-agnostic, enabling it to be used with all implant providers.
Bakirtzian added, “It’s great to see the demand and interest for Intellijoint products, and we anticipate continued growth in Japan through the expansion of our distribution network for our KNEE product, enabling more surgeons to use our technology for the benefit of their patients.”
The company is currently seeking a distribution partner in the country.
