Henry Schein announced that it has completed the acquisition of TriMed, a maker of solutions for orthopedic treatment of upper and lower extremities.
Henry Schein revealed the agreement to buy a majority interest in TriMed in December 2023. Adding TriMed, the company said, will strengthen its relationship with existing Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and ambulatory surgical center (ASC) customers by offering more range in surgical solutions.
TriMed is headquartered in Santa Clarita, Calif. The company posted about $52 million in revenues in 2023. Henry Schin said it anticipates the transaction to be neutral to 2024 non-GAAP earnings per share and accretive afterwards. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
TriMed founders David Medoff, chief commercial officer, and Robert Medoff, MD, medical advisor, will remain part of the management team of TriMed.
“With this new partnership, Henry Schein is reinforcing our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers in the orthopedic market and providing health care professionals with the tools needed to deliver outstanding care to patients,” said Stanley M. Bergman, chairman and CEO of Henry Schein. “By leveraging TriMed's established presence and reputation, together we will expand our product offering and provide comprehensive orthopedic solutions to our customers. We welcome our new TriMed colleagues to Team Schein, and we look forward to continued success together.”
